Archangels in Black was a really, really good album. Narrowly missed my Top 10.

I'm probably wrong, but aren't God Dethroned the band with the two black guitarists that did the Betcha can't play this on youtube where the first guitarist played something incredibly awful sounding and the second one played a riff in 3/4 and said it had crazy timing and upstrokes? Or was that God Forbid? Sorry, I'm on my phone and don't have access to youtube and metal archives don't load for me...

The only two bands on your list I've never heard of are HDK and Inmoria. But the only ones I've actually listened to that aren't on my list is Katatonia.

I like Amorphis and MDB, but I can't imagine either of them putting out something I enjoy more than a heavier Symphony X soundalike than Adagio. Maybe it's just that, I thoroughly enjoy obscene displays of technicalities, and even more when it's actually tasteful...

Would you mind telling me a bit about your favorites? I'm really doing my best to not come off as a douchebag, because I know on the internet, that happens to me all the time lol, plus the percocets from my wisdom teeth removal teeth have me a bit loopy, hahaha.

I agree, but I think then that would mean he had to do some on Sky Burial as well, because the vocals sound similar, but I really don't know. I was floored by them the first time I heard them and I just don't know who sang them. If Giant Squid could work those into an album by them my mind would explode from excellence.

I believe you're thinking of God Forbid. I don't think anyone in God Dethroned is black. Everyone in God Forbid was except the bassist (totally backwards!) until Dallas Coyle left the band.

If I had purchased Kykesa earlier it may have climbed higher. I know I'm in the minority on Baroness but Red Album is just better start to finish for me. If Ironbound had counted for 2009 it would have made my list. I still think 2009 was one of the best if not the best year for heavy music ever. There are many bands in my 11-20 who once I see them live could have moved up also. And last not not least Shoulder of Your God was the best Bonus Track released in 2009 and should have made the final cut of Wrath.
