[Maiden33]

Tonight was interesting. I was planning on going to see this Maiden tribute, when I got a phone call a few hours before the show. Apparently word had gotten around about my "skills" playing Maiden stuff on guitar, and this band's one guitarist was in the hospital, so they asked me to fill in on all the stuff I could do. Some stuff went much better than others, and all in all it was a good time.

Killers was the first Maiden album I ever bought so that's actually really cool. And I'll be getting tickets to go see Paul when he's in CA

I don't. I love Maiden as much as anyone but it has nothing to do with the first two albums. Musically they're fine but there's only about 5 songs I like between the two. Di'anno's voice is terrible if you ask me and never really fit Maiden's style at all. All these years i've wished they would re-record those first two with Dickinson and then maybe they would be as good as some people think it is.

I had NOTB, POM and PS before I heard anything from Di'anno and when i did I wasn't impressed at all with his vocals. Maybe it's just because I was blessed with hearing Dickinson first before Di'Anno. But I doubt if I did hear Paul first I would've cared that much about his voice.

Enh, I don't think having Bruce sing those albums would improve them in the way that you're thinking. The songwriting fit the singer; Paul did that punky vibe better than Bruce could have. Same goes for Blaze doing The X-Factor.
