Death Angel -- San Francisco, CA -- December 18th, 2009

Last show of the year, Death Angel ripped again for the 3rd straight time, they got another new white boy bassist since I saw 'em in May, this dude is better than the last guy, and Will Carroll fills in Gus' shoes nicely. The band was vibin, crowd was vibin, and I got blessed by some weird ugly chick while waiting in line, apparently between now and January 1st I will meet a fine ass chick and fall in love Here's the songs they played, roughly in order:

Lord of Hate
Evil Priest
Buried Alive
Voracious Souls
Kill As One
Dethroned
Seemingly Endless Time
Stop
Veil of Deception
Into the Arms of Righteous Anger
Falling Asleep
The Devil Incarnate
Thrown to the Wolves
------------------------
The Ultra Violence/Carnival Justice
Bored
River of Rapture

Into the Arms of Righteous Anger (how the fuck did I remember that one) and River of Rapture were the new ones, the former veered nauseatingly into deathcore territory complete with unabashed modern metal breakdown, while the latter was more in the vein of classic thrashy/melodic Death Angel but also had a gayass breakdown, hopefully it's not a sign of things to come. The old songs ruled though, and they did some of the best from Killing Season, also great to hear Stop and Veil of Deception.

They should be announcing a US tour sometime soon.
