43. Suffocation-Blood Oath

This record is pretty damn good. It's got some nice riffs and the usual brutal as hell vocals from madman vocalist Frank Mullen. The problem is(pretty much the same with Cannibal Corpse) is that they could be making much better records. I still love Suffocation and this is not an effort to be ashamed of but they could do better.

Standout Tracks
1.Come Hell Or High Priest
2.Blood Oath
3.Dismal Dream

42. 3 Inches Of Blood-Here Waits Thy Doom

3 Inches Of Blood made one of 2007's finest records with Fire Up The Blades. Their earlier material such as Advance and Vanquish also kicks ass. This record while good is no where near as good as their past efforts. This record still has it's fun riffs and over the top yet awesome vocals. One of the reasons I think this record lacks is Jamie Hopper who blew out his voice. It's a damn shame because he was part of what made this band one of the elite. Hope they can prove me wrong with their next record. Another issue is that a few of these songs are too long and can drag. Other than that good record.

Standout Tracks
1.Rock In Hell
2.Battles And Brotherhood
3.Call Of The Hammer

41.Born Of Osiris-A Higher Place

This record is pretty impressive. Their debut The New Reign was a decent deathcore album. A Higher Place shows this band can play their instruments damn well and everything is a whole lot better this go round. This is a band to watch for years to come. I think this band might be something special

Standout Tracks
1.Now Arise
2.Live Like I'm Real
3.Exist

Normally I would say GTFO, but knowing that you are pretty open minded when it comes to music, I'll let it slide.

Yeah I'm with ya dude but rating those last few cd's over Slayer is pure Blasphemy. The 3 Slayer songs you listed are better than 3 of the last 4 total cd's to me. 3IOB might be the most boring cd I heard all year. Seriously Judas Priest circa 1978 called and want their sound back. hahaha

40.Augury-Framenting Evidence

A very good band from Canada that I just found about a couple of months ago. Really talented group of dudes who make some really solid prog death metal. The only downside to this record is that is that gets a little bit boring in places but for the most part good shit.

Standout Tracks
1.Jupiter To Ignite
2.Orphans Of Living
3.Skyless

39.Despised Icon-Day Of Mourning

Another heavy as shit album from Canadian hardcore-influnced tech-death-metalers/creators of deathcore. This band hasn't made anything not worth listening to and this continues the streak. They make good use of their two vocalists on this effort and all around this album makes a pretty good punch.

Standout Tracks
1.Made Of Glass
2.Sleepless
3.MVP

38.Kreator-Hordes Of Chaos

Not really much to say about this one. A good, solid record from Kreator. They have done better, they have done worse.

Standout Tracks
1.War Curse
2.To The Afterburn
3.Destroy What Destroys You

37.The Crimson Armada-Guardians

This is another band that I think will/should explode. I found about them at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival this year and i was very impressed by their performance. Talked to them later on that day asked them about their records and they told me about their debut record was coming out on Metal Blade in July. I downloaded and i was pretty impressed. Sure this band has some breakdowns but they aren't overdone and they are done well. The vocalist is solid and the lyrics are original. Worth checking out if you don't mind some breakdowns.

Standout Tracks
1.A Filthy Addiction
2.The Sound,The Flood,The Hour
3.Guardians

36.Lacuna Coil-Shallow Life

This is proably one of the most disputed records of the year. Personally I liked this record quite a bit. Sure it's not as heavy as previous Lacuna Coil albums but I thought it was a nice change of pace for them. Cristina Scabbia's vocals shine here. She has a gorgeous voice and it is showcased on here quite well. Defintely not another masterpiece like Karmacode but a pretty killer release none the less.

Standout Tracks
1.Not Enough
2.I Survive
3.Spellbound

35.Eminem-Relapse

Eminem could have done better. After such a hiatus and recovery from drug addiction i kind of expected another masterpiece from him. Don't get me wrong this album is still well-done but a couple things need to be worked on. The main reason this isn't masterpiece is their is too many over-the top violent lyrics. Some of them are kind of laughable ICP-style lyrics and takes away from the vibe of the album. Another problem is the stupid fucking accent he raps in on some of the songs. It works fine on certain tracks but on others it makes you want put your head through a fucking wall. On the postive they are a good amount of gems on this album and Dr.Dre did a fantastic job with the beats. I hope Relapse 2 is better.

Standout Tracks
1.Underground
2.Old Time's Sake
3.My Mom

34.August Burns Red-Consellations

One of the most pleasant surprises of the whole year. A big step up from their previous material. Everyone in the band stepped their game up on this record. This records got some really solid riffs and the guitar work overall is well-done. Another this record has is this the best guest apperance of the year with Tommy Rogers from Between The Buried and Me doing an astonishing clean vocal line on Indonesia. Best album August Burns Red has ever made for sure.

Standout Tracks
1.Indonesia
2.Ocean Of Apathy
3.Merdian

33.Warbringer-Waking Into Nightmares

This is another band I think will explode in the coming years. Their slick thrash for sure will launch them into the big time. Defintely one of the best new thrash band out there. No shortage of awesome solos on this record. Also gotta say their drummer is really damn good. Great effort from Warbringer and I can't wait to see what they churn out next.

Standout Tracks
1.Jackal
2.Severed Reality
3.Scorched Earth

32.Cattle Decaptation-The Harvest Floor

I got to say I don't think there was a brutal record released this year. Cattle Decpatation hits hard and fast throughout the duration of this record. Travis Ryan is one of the most unique vocalists in all of metal and I love his style and approach. Another band that I think made their best album this year. If you like deathgrind Cattle Decaptation is one of the leaders of the genre and The Harvest Floor is one of the essential albums

Standout Tracks
1.Regret And The Grave
2.The Harvest Floor
3.Tooth Enamel and Concrete
