If I remember correctly, it's the drum beat that's popular in several hardcore punk genre's that goes something like "bassbdrum-bassdrum-snare, bassdrum-bassdrum-snare" and it was popularized by the band Discharge, hence the name "D"-beat.

Decided to not do a "most anticipated" because Maiden pushing theirs to 2011 renders it irrelevant, and decided to make a new thread for my Man of the Year piece, so I'll leave this thread with my hypothetical 16-20 because this year had way too much great shit to only give props to 15 albums. So, here's five more:
Fen - The Malediction Fields Clutch - Strange Cousins from the West Megadeth - Endgame Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster Amesoeurs - Amesoeurs

If you like Lazarus A.D. then you should check out Mantic Ritual. They're new just like Lazarus and I think only got one album so far as well. Warbinger may be another one you should check out. I just rencently listened to their two albums and it's very good. All these bands play very good modern day thrash and are proof that the thrash metal that made 80s metal what it was will be carried on into the furture by bands like them.
