Yeah it was the Vinnie Vincent Invasion opening that tour. By the way, has anyone seen the "Boyz are Gonna Rock" video lately? Talk about over the top 80's hair metal excess - highly recommended (for laughs)...

I've seen the Powerslave, Somewhere In Time and the Seventh Sun tours and for me the Somewhere in Time tour was the best of the three for stage show and song selection. I don't remember Where Eagles Dare being played but I seem to remember Maiden playing The Prisoner on this tour. I snuck in a small tape recorder into this concert and got a bootleg of the show but i seem to have lost the tape over the last 22 years or so, I've looked everywhere for it but no luck. I also had a bootleg of Metallica's Master of Puppets Tour and cant find it either. Sucks.

They didn't play Where Eagles Dare in Montreal March 24 th 1987, I had to wait till the Early Days tour to finally have it.

here the set I had for my 2 nd Maiden show:

2: Caught Somewhere In Time
3: 2 Minutes To Midnight
4: Children Of The Damned
5: Stranger In A Strange Land
6: Wasted Years
7: Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
8: Walking On Glass
9: Heaven Can Wait
10: Phantom Of The Opera
11: Hallowed Be Thy Name
12: Iron Maiden

Encores:

13: The Number Of The Beast
14: Run To The Hills
15: Running Free

Cheers !

Damn I wish i was 18 again and be able to go to these shows and rock out again (without ear plugs...lol) but on the bright side now i get to enjoy these shows again by taking my 12 year old son. I took him to crue fest 2 for his first concert and thinking about taking him to KISS but I really should have taken him to see the Maiden SBINT tour.

I've got some bootlegs from the SIT tour and Bruce's vocals are HORRIBLE! He practically talks his way through Hallowed.

I've only heard the Philly '87 boot but I don't think he hits any of the correct notes in CSIT. Although, in his defense, they were touring nonstop and CSIT seems like it'd be hard as hell to sing, especially as an opener before you're even warm.

Edit: And even if Bruce didn't sound great on this tour, I'd still give my left nut to go back in time and see it.

I think it would be so cool to see maiden on tour do a medley of like 15 songs that they rarely play from all their albums especially from the 90's for those fans that stuck by them after the 7th sun album til the last tour where they seem to become popular again and lets not forget anything off of killers

I saw them "Somewhere On Tour" in Portland, Oregon in February of 1987. Vinnie Vincent opened for them. As I recall, the opener originally was Lizzy Borden, but they were kicked off of the tour (or something like that)..................................
