Five Finger Death Punch - War is the answer - 2009

I finally got this album after waiting a week for USPS to deliver it. So much for pre-ordering it.

Anyway I was anticipating this album after loving The way of the fist so much. Some people might say the album is too much the same, or too different. I thought that it was a natural progression. They showed with the way of the fist they had found their nitch and this album doesn't deviate from that feel too much. There are a few slower even more melotic songs, namely crossing over, far from home and walk away. However I enjoyed these songs especially for they showed that the ffdp boys could branch out without selling out. They also show that they aren't just a one trick horse. Their cover of bad cumpany's bad company was a pleasant surprise, taking a few moments to reflect on an amazing song no matter who would do it, and they didn't disappoint, they added their own flavor to it which was neat.
The album has a number of harder anxty songs seen in the way of the fist, and no one gets left behind has to be a thinly valed jab at Former president Bush, and the war in Iraq.
I got the special edition, and was glad the 2 bonus tracks are good as well.

rating: 9/10
easily climbing my list for 09, tighed with Killswitch engage, both of which are still behind Amorphis's skyforger, which for me will be a difficult album to displace as number 1 for the year.

I hate this album

"Far From Home" pretty much compliments my opinion of it.

Every time I hear this band's name, I think of this retarded kid at Junior high and a song he used to sing that went "Five finger discount, five finger discount five finger discount!"

This album is pretty good i was pretty dissapointed 2 of the 3 ballads are really, really bad and the heavier stuff is good but not quite as Way Of The Fist. I would proably give it a 7 or 7.5/10 one of the bigger letdowns of 09 for me.

I think its good but not that good. Way Of The Fist is so much better. While this album is good it is still kind of weak. Hard to see and Walk away are my least favorite tracks. The album might even be a little better without those two. Its still good my favorites are My Own Hell and No One Gets Left Behind.

My 1st impression is it's too singy. If that's even a word. The dude just sings way too much for me. I'm thinking it'll grow on me but still can't fathom Shadows Fall opening for these guys. Shadows Fall smokes them on every level.

Agreed. Shadows Fall Is better than everyone on that tour. I think this album would be better without walk away and hard to see.

on their first album he screams with harmonizing as a compliment, which is why it was so good....On war is the answer he harmonizes with screaming as a compliment. That and half of the songs are sad attempt at power ballads. Even the heavy songs dont make this worth listening to ever again.
