Judas Priest -- Columbia, MD -- August 22nd, 2009

Awesome show, I was on the rail right in the center. The way they kicked the show off with Rapid Fire and the curtain was awesome. The only other time I've seen the Priest was last year and Halford was sounding pretty rough then, this time was a completely different story. Halford nailed every scream, a highlight for me was when Halford came up front and center, hunched over and destroyed Victim of Changes. I could see him start to shake near the end of the scream. Glenn was the coolest guy of the night though. Rob and KK seemed to be in their own world but Glenn was interacting with the fans all night. Right after Rapid Fire he flashed me the horns! During The Ripper me and him had some fun interaction with the lyrics, and then he handed me a pick after the set. Very, very awesome guy. Ian's bass intro to The Rage was cool to hear. Rob said some cool stuff at the end of the set about the Union Jack and the Stars and Stripes being united in peace, war, and heavy metal. I couldn't believe how fast the set went by, British Steel was over in the blink of an eye.

Setlist was:

Rapid Fire
Metal Gods
Breaking the Law
Grinder
United
You Don't Have to be Old to be Wise
Living After Midnight
The Rage
Steeler
---
The Ripper
Prophecy
Hell Patrol
Victim of Changes
---
Freewheel Burning
Diamonds and Rust
You've Got Another Thing Coming

Cool review. I ran into some friends that night who all said it was one of the best shows they've ever seen. A guy who I really respect said Victim of Changes was the best live version of the song he's ever heard. Pissed I missed that show now...

As retarded as it was to have Kix open instead of Whitesnake I bet it was more hot women there because of them.
