Dream Theater -- Baltimore, MD -- August 1st, 2009
Source: Friends in attendance.
01.A Nightmare to Remember 02.Prophets of War 03.Sacrificed Sons 04.A Rite of Passage 05.The Dance of Eternity 06.One last Time 07.Solitary Shell 08.In the Name of God Encore: 09.The Count of Tuscany Well, In the Name of God certainly came out of nowhere. This is going to be an amazing surprise for some and a bad one for others. This set list, while not being bad, is incredibly new-leaning. There isn't a single pre-Scenes From a Memory (1999) song here, and considering how well DT's early work is received compared to their later stuff, that's a monumental gamble. |

That sucks, no 'Keyboard Solo'.
/sarcasm I definitely don't mind that set, despite it being latter-era material. |

Queensryche setlist
Here's the set Queensryche played. I didn't see much reporting on them so far.
Queensryche * Neue Regel * The Whisper * Screaming in Digital * Walk in The Shadows * new song * new song * A Dead Man's Words * Home Again (with Geoff's daughter) * Best I can * Empire I was not familiar with the new songs, as this was the second time I've heard them, but the tracks off of Rage... were great, IMO! What was up with Geoff wearing dress slacks and shoes? (This was the first full Queensryche set I've seen, I caught 2 songs when they toured with Priest a few years ago) I enjoyed Queensryche, thought Zappa was boring yet technically proficient i.e. Yngwie Malmsteen Syndrome (I think I need to be a musician to appreciate them or something), but Dream Theater obviously took the cake. |
