I think I dribbled a little in my pants when I saw the double bill of Aerosmith/Megadeth announced for 3 shows in Southern California.
It was a little off the wall at first but I dug both bands enough at the time that I splurged and bought tix for all 3. Megadeth did one of the best shows I had ever seen them do almost totally neglecting their most recent album Symphony Of Destruction which I wasn't into anyway.

Okay, I got a little carried away there, actually Dave was a dick and got Megadeth kicked off the tour and was replaced by Jackyl who was one of the worst bands I have ever endured. They were giving refunds in Costa Mesa!!

Filming for Wayne's World 2, hence all the repeated songs. After the show the band stayed inside til about 4am doing Dude (Looks Like A Lady) and Shut Up And Dance over and over again. This was my first ever trip out of town for a show. Instead of getting a motel, I hung out outside all night with one of the huge poster sized filming disclaimer notices (mentioning both Aerosmith and Wayne's WOrld 2) and I got the whole band to sign as they started trickling out about 4 in the morning.

Aug 4 1993 Great Western Forum (this show was just lame, apathetic crowd and the band wasn't even that interesting. The Ry Cooder guest spot sounds great on tape but at the time it brought the whole evening to a screeching halt and even the hour straight of nonstop hits couldn't bring it back to life)

I'd love to see some of those in the 2009 setlist, especially "Set The World Afire" and "My Last Words", killer songs...

They did Set The World Afire in 2005 when I saw them on the first Gigantour. They only dropped it on the last tour so it hasn't been abscent from the set for that long. Maybe they'll bring it back around this tour. I feel that's a song they should do every show anyway.
