Recorded in 2005 for CD release. Doug Aldrich played instead of Craig due to an arm injury. Based on the 30-sec clips on iTunes its not a very good CD, Dio's voice is strained....


does it annoy anyone else that he plays 11+ minute Heaven and Hells and reduces Sign of the Southern Cross to 3 min?..... not to mention the 17 minute Shame on the Night, but that song will probably never be done on any other tour

that extended Shame On The Night solo makes that album worth it alone.

Yeah the Holy Diver Live is not a great buy, for those mentioning it earlier. I picked up the DVD and it's okay, but Dio is definitely strained. I don't think it's so much that he can't do those songs anymore, so much as just a weak performance on that particular night. The audio mix and picture quality are pretty good though (which I cannot say for Evil or Divine.)

Faces In The Window = ok, but the only time I'd want to hear it live is if Dio did Dream Evil in its entirety live (which would own the fucking Solar System).

That's actually the tour I saw him on. I still throw the album on once in a while, but have to fast forward through several songs (e.g., "I Could've Been a Dreamer" ).

I tried sitting through Lock Up the Wolves a couple months ago but I just couldn't bear it.
