Running Wild -- Wacken, Germany -- July, 30th, 2009

"Farewell Show" at the famous Wacken Open Air in northern Germany before 70.000 rainsoaked metal maniacs!

I just watched the live-stream, great show with a lot of classics, but the gig could have been longer in my opinion...

Setlist:

01. Intro
02. Port Royal
03. Bad To The Bone
04. Riding The Storm
05. Soulless
06. Prisoner Of Our Time
07. Black Hand Inn
08. Purgatory
09. The Battle Of Waterloo
10. Raging Fire
11. The Brotherhood
12. Draw The Line
13. Whirlwind
14. Tortuga Bay
15. Branded And Exiled
16. Raise Your Fist
17. Conquistadores
18. Under Jolly Roger

~ 110 min

Thanx to Rock'n'Rolf and all the other guys for 25 years of great heavy metal! We will miss you!

Enjoy the retirement!

Not really. It's a festival. Limited time all round. 110 minutes is actually unusally long, and they were only allowed that long because both Thin Lizzy and Anthrax cancelled and they couldn't get replacements so had to reshuffle the other bands.

Not really, Running Wild's show was announced as a special farewell show long before the cancellations. But you're also right, 110 min for a festival is quite good, but i would have prefered more songs from their 1984-1989 albums, the "Golden Years"...

Very good set, I'm excited to get this on DVD. But that being said, they let the fans vote for the songs in the set and where the fuck is Treasure Island? I would've taken that over The Battle Of Waterloo any day.

Truly Epic

Im really stunned and saddened that Running Wild played there last show. The set is just fantastic. Tortuga Bay and Raging Fire . Seriously...... I hope anyone who went to this revels in saying there were there when Running Wild played there last show, cause i feel like crying right now that i wasnt there.
Such a perfect way to go out.
