Soooooooo fucking stoked for this movie. I should be going to see it this weekend. Anything to do with 1930s gangsters is fucking awesome in my book, especially when it involves a great actor like Johnny Depp. I'm pretty sure I will want to wear a fedora and rob banks with a Tommy gun after seeing this. Also, it will be nice to see him in something that doesn't involve pirates or some Tim Burton goth bullshit.

I just got back from it and I had set it up to be the movie of the year when I read about it last year. It was pretty damn good but not spectacular. I would have liked more variety in scenes. I know what gunfights look like from 1,000,000 angles now, and the camerawork didn't really work for me. It was shot like a faux-documentary - think the Office shots.

Mind you, none of these problems were the fault of the actors who were all spectacular. Johnny Depp and Christian Bale are ultimate badasses in the first degree, and Marion Cotillard has a certain sexy, classy sensibility that makes my pants tighten. So there's that.

no, i dont mean those assholes who wear short brim fedoras with American Eagle shirts.

I mean french shoes, argyle socks, suspenders, the whole nine yards.
