Opeth -- Sayreville, NJ -- May 1st, 2009

Really fun show, i think it was my 17th time seeing Opeth since 2001. Enslaved was the only support...I know they closed with Isa, and played fusion of sense and earth. Had trouble understanding the singer, i can flesh their set out some tomorrow with my ipod. They played about 45 mins.

Opeth (in order)

Heir Apparent
Ghost of Perdition
Godheads Lament
Leper Affinity
Credence
Hessian Peel
Closure (extended)
Night and the Silent Water
Lotus Eater
------------------------
Deliverance

Michael was his usual chatty self, kept making Bon Jovi, Skid Row, and Springsteen references since the show was in Jersey

Wish Enslaved got a longer time, especially considering it's only a 2-band tour and Enslaved originally was supposed to do a headlining tour throughout the US, before it got scrapped.

Although it's great to see Opeth doing the excellent setlist from the European tour for this tour. I can't wait to see this unfold on Cinco de Mayo.

By the way, did they do a medley or anything like the European sets had?

For those wondering about the schedule, the time on the ticket was 7:00. I think that was when the doors were supposed to open, but we arrived at 7:15 and there was still a giant line outside. Not sure about the times of Enslaved's set, but Opeth came on around 9:20 and played until 11:25.

My pics from the show:

This tour will be my fifth time seeing Opeth. Three songs I've never seen before...good stuff.

Another awesome Opeth show last night...it never gets old after 40+ gigs. It was great to see the venue packed with lots of craziness.

I thought Enslaved played great as well, but their sound was muddied up too much. There was a definite difference for the better during Opeth's set from where I was standing. Anyway, here is Enslaved's set list as best as I can remember it. I might be missing a song, but I don't think so.

Enslaved
To the Coast
Fusion of Sense and Earth
Ruun
As Fire Swept Clean the Earth
Ground
The Watcher
Isa
