The only thing that might top Dead Congregation in the realm of death metal this year is new Necros Christos. This thing is so ridiculously good, just a riff feast.

On a related note, I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if there's not another band on the MDF bill that can put on a more awe-inspiring performance than Necros Christos.

And, I can't wait for that new album.

10.High Spirits - You Are Here
9.Dynazty - Renatus
8.Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child
7.Steel Panther - All You Can Eat
6.Winger - Better Days Comin'
5.Xandria - Sacrificium
4.Edguy - Space Police - Defenders Of The Crown
3.Persuader - The Fiction Maze
2.H.e.a.t - Tearing Down The Walls
1.Skull Fist - Chasing The Dream

The new Edguy blew me away, it's the best they've done in a long while.

And for all who haven't checked out the new Xandria, do it right now. It's probably the best female fronted symphonic metal album since Imaginaerum.

Behemoth - The Satanist
Kampfar - Djevelmakt
Nuklear Frost - Subjugation
Trollfest - Kaptein Kaos
Narcotic Wasteland - S/T

My top 5 AT THE MOMENT IN NO ORDER....
I have a couple boxes of unripped/barely listened to CD's in my van with a good chunk of 2014 albums in it, so I'll update it after I give them all a good solid listen

Starts OK, gets boring quickly. Nothing like as interesting or varied as what they've been doing recently.

They've basically said they did it to shut up the whining fans who only like one thing, then they're going back to doing interesting stuff next time.
