Honestly the records you bought are probably fine condition-wise. Hair metal and classic rock vinyl is some of the cheapest stuff around because they sold a bajillion records in their day, so near-mint copies are everywhere. If you ever get into thrash and NWOBHM, you'll go broke. I've spent way too much money on vintage/import pressings of those kind of bands. For the kind of music you dig, I think you'll have a great time collecting vinyl for at least a couple of years.

The Queensryche EP is a weird case since it's really highly regarded among metal fans in general. The notoriety of a vintage record always increases its value. You should be able to dig around for a copy that's around $10 if you keep at it, $20 is way too much to pay for that thing.

Nothing will ever beat my first pressing of Master of Reality that I bought for $10 at Big Al's Record Barn in San Jose four years ago. So fucking heavy. SO FUCKING HEAVY.

I guess I should have said that it's very much dependent on what country you live in as well. I'm sure 70s punk, NWOBHM and 80s goth/post-punk stuff isn't too hard to find for you huh?

I think they're closed now. I bought my first few records from Big Al's when I was 14, and I always found a gem or two every time I went there.

Damn, you're probably right. I'm gal I was able to check it out before they closed. I got Screaming For Vengenace and Fragile there and my bud found some rare Bob Dylan bootleg or something.

All vinyl is expensive here. All of it.

Only real chance of getting anything cheap is either beaten up stuff, or when a mail order company sells off excess stock of a recent re-print.
