Dissidia Final Fantasy
Japanese Release Date: December 18th, 2008
North American Release Date: August 25th, 2009
Original Platform: Playstation Portable

Iíve never played this game but I know it features characters and locations from all the numbered entries. I think it may be a fighting game or something. Iím very interested because it seems like it may be a nice homage to the entire series but Iím not buying a new system for one game. Especially if itís a fighting game (which I donít like) and thereís a good chance Iíll be disappointed. Although the amount of times Iíve said ďIím not buying a system for one gameĒ is a moot point now since Iíve probably said it for five PSP games and five DS games.

Best Song: Main Theme of Final Fantasy IV -Arrange-
Coolest Character (Based off actions in previous games): Sephiroth
Lamest Character (Based off actions in previous games): Tidus
Gameplay Demo: Tidus verses Jecht

Final Boss: Chaos

This game didn't look too bad. I think it got some "OK" reviews, but wasn't gronudbreaking or anything special... still seems like a ton of fun though, if at least for just a short while . I'm sure it's better than that other Fighting game that featured a few Final Fantasy characters.... Einhergiz or something like that?

Final Fantasy: the 4 Heroes of Light
Japanese Release Date: October 29th, 2009
North American Release Date: October 5th, 2010
Original Platform: Nintendo DS

This game is very similar to the 'Adventure' title from the early nineties. Or at least that's what I've read. It doesn't look very good and the art style is atrocious.

Gameplay Demo: the beginning of the game

Final Boss: Chaos

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers
Japanese Release Date: November 12th, 2009
North American Release Date: December 26th, 2009
Original Platform: Nintendo Wii

Three games for one series (any series) in one year seems like a lot to me. And who the hell releases anything the day after Christmas? At least the final boss in this one doesn't look like a spoony bard.

I actually read that this one was one of the better games in the Crystal Chronicles series. I've only seen this one gameplay video and it doesn't look as juvenile. But the music sucks. Who thought it would be a good idea to have ho-down music as battle music? Nobuo Uematsu would never pull that shit.

Gameplay Demo: running in a field

Final Boss: Jegran

I had to vote for VII for pure nostalgia. That game consumed was my whole Christmas break that year. FF7, MGS1 and C:SOTN were my favorites from the PS1 era.

From the main series I've only played 1-7, but between the original Tactics and the GBA version of Tactics I've poured more hours into the Tactics games than all other FFs combined.
