Tom G. could learn a thing or two from Su-Metal.

Just ordered

Pantera - Metal Magic
Pantera - Projects in the Jungle
Pantera - I Am The Night

I know these were never "offciailly" released on CD, but I hope they are as good as my copy of "Power Metal"

Sure they were. Metal Magic Records released it...I have the first one. Unless that's some weirdo illegitimate issue.

So uhm, is Dime's great playing already there on those albums, or are they really THAT different, say, a more "extreme" form of KISS?

Check it out! I couldn't listen to 90s Pantera after hearing 80s Pantera. It's cheesy, its goofy, its bad, but its so awesome!

I'm the other way around. I listened to Far Beyond Driven and Great Southern Trendkill before listening to Cowboys From hell, and have a hard time even taking some of the CFH songs seriously. I've been meaning to venture into the 80s stuff, but something tells me I won't like it.

I agree with this statement one hundred percent. I don't like glam metal and I still hear some traces of their glam metal past to make me not really enjoy Cowboys From Hell. Domination is still pretty intense though.

80's Pantera is everything ridiculous about glam metal but done with so much more intensity, speed and heaviness. I can see why you wouldn't like CFH too much, I'm not the biggest fan of it myself, much more a VDoP onwards fan. Those glam influences didn't last long
