I'm inadvertently seeing Soilwork tomorrow. For no real good reason they're special guests on the London date of Overkill's tour with Xentrix opening. I'm not particularly happy about that because everywhere else Xentrix are special guests (longer set) and Shrapnel are opening.

Same promoters fucked up Testament's last headlining tour too. Onslaught as special guests everywhere else, Anaal Nathrakh in London. As you'd expected, no one cared about Anaal Nathrakh at a thrash show. Same will happen tomorrow.

Soilwork are in the UK anyway because they're playing at Hammerfest at the weekend, so why not book their own London show? Then they might get to play to a few people who give a damn.

That is odd, could be a ticket issue - might not be selling great so Soilwork was put on to boost them a bit. Maybe promoter just thought it'd make for a better show in London.

It's usually the latter. In this case it definitely is, because Soilwork were added to the London show first, before the support for the tour was sorted. For some reason London promoters are really bad at this.

If I had to guess, seeing as Soilwork are on their own tour anyway, tonight was the only night they could do London, and there were no suitable venues available for them to do their own show. Thing is, you just know it's going to lead to a short Overkill set.
