Eyes of a Stranger

My first casino show, a sure sign of my impending middle age. My friend who is a casino regular here on this Utah-Nevada border town in the middle of nowhere told me it is casino show etiquette that you typically sit and don't stand. I have to say I don't like sitting, it just makes the whole experience too passive. Other complaints about this show are that the sound was poor, the bass overwhelmed everything and lead solos could not be heard very well if at all. Also the website says Operation Mindcrime 25th anniversary tour, yet there were more songs from Empire than from Mindcrime. Tate sounded good overall but he definitely avoided any high notes, plus a couple of times he rambled a little bit and I wanted to yell "Shut the hell up Mike Muir!"

Tate haters will be sad to hear that the place looked sold out to me. I think the seating capacity was around 1000 but can't find official confirmation of that. The crowd seemed indifferent for the most part to any song from after Empire which was my feeling as well. Why either incarnation of Queensryche basically ignore Rage For Order continues to baffle me.

Good review.

Looks like the entire population of Wendover showed up to pack the place.

Good to see Tate pull his head out of his ass long enough to play a decent setlist. Still can't tough the other Queensryche but at least he isn't boring people to tears with 10 of his crappy solo songs.

Queensryche at least has Walk in the Shadows and The Whisper in regular rotation, and they've also played Neue Regel. I agree, though, Rage is criminally ignored.

He must realize now that he won't last if he plays a bunch of shit that nobody knows. He's hanging on by a thread as it is.

" Operation Mindcrime 25th anniversary tour"

I hope he will revert to the Jan setlists we see that have all of Mindcrime (fitting for the advertizement!)

Totally agree. I'm guessing Tate can't sing Surgical Strike or Screaming in Digital anymore so I wouldn't expect any Rage songs from except Walk in the Shadows which he ruined the last time I saw them. Changing the lyrics to stealing guys girlfriends and shit. Total Douchelord....

I bet the only reason so many people showed up was because they gave a ton of tickets away and did 2 for 1 deals.
