Lego Movie is easiest the best animated movie in years. Nonstop laughter with so many big names, adult jokes, and lego formed cameos by famous movie characters.

Monuments Men wasn't too great at all. There were stretches in the middle where not much happened and every actor in the movie seems like they are just to help out their pal George Clooney make his movie and not really giving it their all with their performances. Nevertheless it remains decent thanks to Clooney's enthusiasm for the material and an engaging beginning and end to the film.

Robocop was okay. Not great but just okay. Way different than the original and really pushed politics into it.

Lego Movie was okay. I saw it with my three and a half year old and he was glued to it. Some of the jokes were funny, and the cameos. I still love Will Ferrell so when he came in at the end I started laughing before he said a word. And then the bits with his son at the very end were touching.

My son wanted more Star Wars though.

In the end we went home and played with...my Star Wars LEGO. And I'm usually just like Will Ferrells character with my LEGO and my kids. BUt I thought back to the end of the movie and was like, "fuck it, take the TIE Fighter apart and make a strange bird...like...thing". And he had even more fun.

Took someone else to see the Lego Movie today so I had a reason to go see it again, even funnier this time. So many hidden references to other films and the such.

There are legitimate plans to make AoD 2. Apparently the plans are to make Army of Darkness 2, make a sequel to the remake of Evil Dead from last year, and then a 7th film that will merge the two worlds. Stuff like that usually is a recipe for dissapointment (Freddy vs Jason, Alien vs. predator, etc.), but I thought the Evil Dead remake was actually pretty good. If anything I can see AoD 2 being the letdown of the bunch since it's been 20 years and who knows what Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are capable of these days.
