Killswitch Engage -- Newcastle, England -- February 3rd, 2014

Battlecross & Miss May I were the support acts, didn't see either of them, nor do I have the sets.

Trivium were good, they did suffer from sound problems during most of the set, but they did certainly give a great performance. The new tracks like Strife and Through Blood and Dirt and Bone were great, but overall, the sound really let me down for me.

Trivium set:
Brave This Storm
Like Light to the Flies
No Way to Heal
Strife
Shattering the Skies Above
Through Blood and Dirt and Bone
A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation
Down from the Sky
Shogun

Encore:
In Waves
Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr

Killswitch Engage were brilliant, sound was tight, Adam was hilarious and wanted a ''pizza pit'' during Rose of Sharyn. They speeded through the set and the choice of songs were pretty great. Only slight problem I had was that they took out Life to Lifeless, but getting to hear Rise Inside defiantly made up for that. So overrall, a great gig.

Killswitch Engage set:
A Bid Farewell
This Is Absolution
The New Awakening
The Arms of Sorrow
This Fire Burns
Beyond the Flames
Rose of Sharyn
Rise Inside
Always
My Last Serenade
Turning Point
Fixation on the Darkness
In Due Time
The End of Heartache

Encore:
My Curse

That's a solid Trivium set!

Yeah it was a pretty unusual set which they normally do but still very good. But like I said, the sound really let them down, songs such as Like Light To The Flies and Shogun were ruined because of that, it wasn't like that the last time I saw them in the exact same venue.

Shogun was awesome to hear on their winter headliner. The whole crowd sung along, plus its a fucking long song.

Wow, I love that Killswitch set, why didn't we get that when they played with Lamb of God?

Hmm, I should have gone to this tour. I thought Trivium would get a longer set and KsE a shorter one, so didn't bother, but that's a decent length KsE set.

Oh well, they're touring a lot these days, so I'll catch them another time.

What I've noticed when Trivium tour the UK, they tend to play a lot more from the Ascendancy album then most other countries. The last time I saw them perform in the UK in support for In Waves, out of a 15 song set, they played 7 tracks from Ascendancy. I think it's due to the fact that the album sold very well here compared to most other place's.

Was a great gig, both bands were on for just over an hour and they pretty much just speed through the songs rarely talking to the crowd, that's how a co-headline tour should be.

I know I said a while back that Rise Inside > My Curse had to be the greatest buzzkill ever, but now I stand corrected: Rise > Always is even worse.
