#21 - Blood

I will continue with the newer Candiria at the end of my countdown. I go through older stuff and re listen and then think I'll put something older next and then I think "is the newer songs I have left better than the older songs" and then I end up w/ another newer song so here we are. This was released as the 1st single of the What Doesn't Kill You... album and even got a little airplay on Headbangers Ball when it was back on MTV2 for a brief time. This was one of the heavier songs that was on this album and it had a little hint of older Candiria with the breakdowns and the riffing.

#20 - Down To The Last Element

Now we're switching it up a little bit more. This is the hip hop side of Candiria that I love as much as I love the hardcore/mathcore side. This only has Carley doing a verse or 2. I wish I knew who did the other verses on here. A very chill hip hop track. Even people who may not like rap or hip hop still might find this enjoyable. This is probably my favorite original hip hop track they do thats on this countdown (*spoiler alert - there is one more hip hop track that is a cover of a more popular hip hop track*). I would also say this crushes most hip hop that has come out over the last few years.

#19 - Trinity Denied

If there's one track that probably will stand out from everything else it is w/o a doubt this track. This is off the very first release Candiria had back in 1994, the Subliminal Demo. Alot of this album has what's pretty close to being considered death metal vocals. The first time I ever heard this I thought this was somebody else because it didn't sound like them at all. The music has a little bit of the Candiria that I knew but not a whole lot. Even w/ that its still a really great song and they even used a couple songs off this demo and put it on later releases as remastered versions.

I wonder what they would have sounded like if they had kept the death metal elements in their music...

Man that would be tough to mix jazz and death metal. What a sound that would be.

Kelly Schafer's vocals near the beginning of "Mother Man" kinda sound like he's rapping
I won't derail this any further though

I definitely know of Atheist but never took time to listen. This would be good encouragement.
