I really like the way this is formatted. Its short albeit thorough and accurate in regards to what the album is. Plus the one or two links are very ideal. Checked out the first 5 EP's you listed and I am really digging the Grayceon one! Keep it up!

45.) Kylesa - Ultraviolet

I'll probably get shit for this, but I only just checked out Kylesa this year with their 2010 release, Spiral Shadow and was ABSOLUTELY BLOWN THE FUCK AWAY, so naturally had to check out their new release. While it's no Spiral Shadow, it's still a force to be reckoned with. This release seems to add more stoner metal elements than before with maybe even a touch of indie dream pop thrown in the mix. All this while never sacrificing their roots as a hardcore infused sludge band. Kylesa truly are one of the most dynamic bands in music today.

We're Taking This
Steady Breakdown

44.) Fleshgod Apocalypse - Labyrinth

After their last release being so disappointing, I'm glad they could come back with an album that can match (and possibly even surpass) Oracles. This album accomplished what I think Agony was trying for, it sounds epic and brutal at the same time without being overly polished or sterile production-wise. "Minotaur (Wrath of Poseidon)" is the most epic song to come out all year, hands down.

Minotaur (The Wrath of Poseidon)

43.) Church of Misery - Thy Kingdom Scum

Some of the grooviest stoner/doom you'll ever hear. Sometimes even bordering on psychedelic. Despite being from Japan, this release sounds like it's straight out of NOLA with Church of Misery channeling the likes of Down and Eyehategod (with a heavy emphasis on the former).

B.T.K. (Dennis Rader)
Cranley Gardens (Dennis Andrew Nilsen)

42.) Mammoth Grinder - Underworlds

A healthy mix of crust punk, sludge and death metal that'll make fans of anything from Discharge to Dismember smile with glee. Mammoth Grinder switches from breakneck, near-grind speed ("Wraparound Eyes") to more a more calculated, sludgy pacing ("Moral Crux") effortlessly. This is to death metal this year what Black Breath's "Sentenced to Life" was last year.

Wraparound Eyes
Moral Crux

41.) Denouncement Pyre - Almighty Arcanum

A black/death (heavily leaning towards the black) release that shows a lot of attention to atmosphere, at least more so than most bands of its ilk. An amazing example of this is the ominous intro to the album, "Breath of Tehom," that sends a chill down your spine right from the get go which leads into one of the most punishing songs I've ever heard in "An Extension of the Void."

Couldn't find "An Extension of the Void" on Youtube, so here's these instead.
The Deceiver
Darkness Manifest

Thanks for checking it out, man! Glad you like the format. Honestly I'm just too lazy to do reviews any longer.

If you dig the Grayceon EP, then definitely check out their previous full length, All We Destroy. Also, Giant Squid would probably also be worth checking out, same chick and same sound albeit a bit more doomy.

Every word of this.

Also, to datjazzfusion, the new EP by Grayceon isn't even their best stuff. If you liked it, check out their first three albums pronto.

I love All We Destroy. I have heard of Grayceon before this EP but I was just unaware that they released one this year. I am digging the EP as well as loving All We Destroy. But I do agree that AWD > EP

I was actually listening to Acranius on my flight home yesterday and it was the most original Slam album I've heard all year. So good
