Neat. Seems like they've been pretty quiet lately. Still waiting for that Anneke Van Giersbergen cameo so they can play Sevengill live

This looks promising to me...

What is on the horizon for Giant Squid and Grayceon, respectively?

Both bands are writing their fifth albums! Giant Squid is about half way there and Grayceon is very close to finishing. Most likely both will be out in 2014.

Hell, even if it's a bunch of videos of him recording riffs in front of his and Jackie's daughter Pearl (see the band's FB page...that video actually exists ), I'd still buy the goddamn thing.
UPDATE: I finally remembered that this had happened and bought a copy the other day. The CD is awesome. Not only does it include the original six tracks, but it also has three demo versions of songs from the EP sans vocals, followed by three live tracks which are grainy as hell but very cool if you're a bigtime fan of the band like I am. Then, they up the ante even further with a DVD that is packed full of Squidly goodies such as band photos, live outtakes from the recording sessions for the original EP, and selected footage from three live shows, all of which are taken from the era when the EP was released. It's interesting to see the lineup of the band at that time playing those songs. While I'm a huge fan of Jackie and everything she does, I gotta say the band had a pretty wicked sound when Aurielle was in it as well. She was a bit more of a screamer than Jackie is.

Anyway, I highly recommend the re-release to anyone who likes this band - it's well worth the clams.

Those wonderful folks need to make a stop in (or at least near) Ohio when they tour for Minoans.

Indifferent

Thanks for the reminder. I bought the thing but still haven't checked out the DVD yet.

Hell yeah, you gotta get on that. There's about 15 or 20 live clips that are actually not bad (for hand-shot videos taken by fans or friends of the band), including two versions of "Neonate" that are fucking godly (now that one I have seen them play live ).
