Macabre -- Schaumburg, IL -- November 15th, 2013

This was part of the Days Of The Dead Horror Convention. For the first time ever they decided to have a Friday night concert for all attendees. It was at a Marriott hotel in a heated tent outside. They actually had a stage built with nice lighting and a screen for Macabre to use.

They had two openers. Bozarth and Forged In Flames.

Forged In Flames sounded like a shitty Mastodon ripoff it seemed and had maybe 20 people watching them.

Macabre came on around 9:40 or so to around 150 people. Hotel personal looked scared shitless at times since they had no clue what this was or how to handle it. There really wasn't a pit except for maybe 3 guys.

Macabre killed it though. Really great live, loved the stories before each song, and they had a pretty cool light show. Also the Zodiac during the first song and the family pretending to do a killing during another song was cool.

McMassacre was fucking awesome.

It's a partial set of what I remember.

Macabre :

Zodiac
Temple of Bones
Lizzy Borden
The Trial
Night Stalker
The Bloody Benders
McMassacre
Serial Killer
The Iceman
You're Dying to Be with Me
Nero's Inferno
Mary Ann

Also bought a patch from them and their newest album on limited edition picture vinyl (limited to 1000 and I got number 7).

Notes from the convention :

I also met Jason Mewes, Brian O'Halloran, Bill Mosley, Sid Haig, Kane Hodder, Heather Langenkamp.

I did get to see Danny Trejo (who i've met before), Lita Ford, Twiggy (from Marilyn Mansons Band) among other.
