Holy FUCK! The new Protest The Hero is fucking amazing, I haven't said that since I discovered Kezia back when the first broke out.

Only one week hence after making this statement, and I think it has finally clicked with me. What did it was, I think, listening to this album with good headphones and no distractions. It's really a beautiful piece of work, calm in places and crushing in others, working its way back and forth between the various extremes with the deftness of a band who've been doing their thing for decades.

Anyway, I'm finally fully on board with Sunbather, so there goes the fun of being the lone contrarian who still doesn't "get" the album at year end when it makes the MetalSetlists Best of 2013 list.

New Ihsahn is disappointing. Should have taken a lot more time on it.

Don't worry, I'll be that person in your place.

Fen's new album is a much better atmospheric black metal/post-rock record than Deafheaven's, in my opinion.

He released another album? I liked the first three but thought Eremita was pretty bad, I guess it's safe to say this new one isn't much different.

I prefer Sunbather, but Dustwalker is definitely an incredible record.

Better yet, I'm just now finishing Side A of Skagos's Anarchic, and it might be better than both.

...and Side B has vocals that sound like a more masculine, folksy Jónsi.
