Katatonia was heavy as tits when I saw them live, and their older discography is awesome death/doom and their newer stuff is some of the only decent gothic/doom rock/metal still being made.

When I saw them they played the whole of Last Fair Deal Gone Down, which is a godly album. And yeah, heavy as fuck the rest of the time. Pulled out a bunch of stuff from all the years.

Opeth wishes their melodic stuff were as good as any Katatonia record of the last 15 years.

I wanted to go to the Chicago show for Cult of Luna but tickets were like $30... fuck that. And I don't give a shit about Katatonia live. When they played Without God and Murder 2 years ago those were the only songs I ever needed to see from them live. The later stuff is boring as hell.

This. They've been way better than Opeth all three times I've seen them play together.

I paid $24 and it was damn well worth it. Don't forget - IntrOnaut was on that bill, too. Hate to tell you this, but you missed a good one, bro. Plus, CoL almost never tours in the U.S.

I'm relieved to see that not all this forum hates one of the best bands out there...

Probably seeing Billy Woods and Wreck and Reference next Thursday.

I might see Danny Brown on the 22nd or 23rd of November but it's not too tempting cause he's opening for Sleigh Bells.

Hank III tonight!! Not sure if I can see the whole show due to tons of homework, but I'll see most of it and will definitely see the full show tomorrow! He's going to play at least four hours each night!

We're playing at Trois-Rivières Metalfest tomorrow, opening for Suffocation and Voivod! It's gonna be a blast!
