AfterShock Festival -- Sacramento, CA -- September 14th-15th, 2013

Sorry for it being late, been a busy week,

FRIDAY: Free Steel Panther Pre Show party!!

L.A. Rocks: cool little band from LA featuring Andrew Dice Clay's son Max on drums. super cool guy. met him later in the night.

Steel Panther: First time ever seeing em, missed em twice when they came to SF, they might have stole the whole weekend they were that good. the whole band is so talented. had such a killer time. they truly know how keep a place happy and rocking. funny as hell too, its like a comedy show as well lol. the whole night kicked ass.

Setlist:

Supersonic Sex Machine
Tomorrow Night
Asian Hooker
Fat Girl
Just Like Tiger Woods
Turn Out The Lights
Girl From Oklahoma
Party All Day
Community Property
Eyes of a Panther
17 Girls in a Row
Death To All But Metal

SATURDAY: First day of Aftershock Festival. My friend and i got there during Steel Panther haha. who rocked again. after them we realized.. it was HOT AS F*** haha at least 95.

next up was P.O.D. who were actually very good live, really got the crowd going. the only thing i could tell you bout the setlist is they started with BOOM, and played YOUTH OF THE NATION, ALIVE last. lol.

P.O.D
Intro
Boom
Murdered Love
Lost in Forever
Set It Off
Without Jah, Nothin'
Southtown
Beautiful
Youth of the Nation
Alive
What I Got
(Sublime cover) (Chorus)
Note: 45 min

after them it was time for the almight TESTAMENT!!!!!! i was one of the very few who knew who they were. all the bands on this tour really mismatched throughout the day lol...youll see why as u keep reading. testament tore the place to shreds, sounded amazing

Testament:
Rise Up
More than Meets the Eye
Practice What You Preach
Into The Pit
DNR
3 Days In Darkness

Now Skillet Was up. only knew a few of their songs like Sick Of It, Monster, And Hero. but overall they sounded great, put on a cool show. far from boring.

Skillet:
Whispers in the Dark
Hero
Sick of It
Comatose
Rise
Awake and Alive
Not Gonna Die
Circus for a Psycho
Monster
Rebirthing

BUCKCHERRY was by far the biggest dissapointment of the day. always loved their music but..idk they were boring, didnt grasp the audience, and just seemed dull. we went to go eat during them lol

Buckcherry:
Lit Up
Rescue Me
All Night Long
Recovery
Everything
Sorry
Dead
Ridin'
Porno Star
Gluttony
Crazy Bitch

PAPA ROACH was next, they are from Sac so the crowd was going nuts!! the singer was in the crowd for like half the setlist singing with everyone. they really put on a great show and sounded excellent. would def go see them again.

Papa Roach
Burn
Blood Brothers
Give Me Back My Life
Between Angels and Insects
Where Did the Angels Go?
Forever
Leader of the Broken Hearts
Scars
Still Swingin'
...To Be Loved
Getting Away with Murder
Last Resort
(with Dave Buckner, their original drummer)

MEGADETH the one i was waiting for all day!! seen em twice already. im a huge fan of them. this was the best show ive seen em put on. Dave's voice was top notch despite the clips u find online. it was sad that the crowd wasnt really into them much since they didnt fit in with the whole mainstream element.

Megadeth:
Hangar 18
Wake Up Dead
In My Darkest Hour
She-Wolf
Sweating Bullets
Kingmaker
Tornado of Souls so stoked they played this!!!
Symphony of Destruction
Peace Sells
Encore:
Holy Wars... The Punishment Due

SHINEDOWN came on next, like i said..,a real mismatch festival lol. the first half of their show was sooo boring. idk they just had no appeal. the singer then went on a beautiful 15 min speech on how important rock music is, how its always there for us. and since that speech they truly rocked the rest of their set. was glad to say ive seen em live.

Shinedown
I'm Not Alright
Enemies (stupid song) lol
Unity
Adrenaline
I'll Follow You
Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom) (another stupid song) lol
If You Only Knew
Sound of Madness
Second Chance
45
Simple Man
Bully

KORN was the main headliner for saturday. only seen em once at mayhem fest, but im a huge fan of them too. even digging the new stuff. Johnathon Davis sounds so badass still, and so nice to see Head back in the band

KORN
Blind
Twist
Falling Away from Me
Love & Meth (First Time Played Live)
Narcissistic Cannibal
Coming Undone
Did My Time
Shoots and Ladders / Somebody Someone
Here to Stay
Never Never
Y'All Want a Single
Encore:
Get Up!
Got the Life
Freak on a Leash

SUNDAY: okay so my friend and i wanted to watch football so we decided to sell our sunday tickets. which def worked in our favor financially. lol. plus i just saw five finger death punch on mayhem. i'll just post setlist fm for the last few bands. this girl i know went sunday she said they all were good. and that A Day To Remember and Avenged stole the show,

Halestorm:

Volbeat, because it's a mystery why they are so popular.

You don't even understand him live, plus I think he has an extremely annoying voice.
