There was no "rather". Once in CA, I had one of each of those.

My first reaction the beer thing was "why the fuck aren't you drinking boulevard?" Then I remembered that's a KC thing. Ya poor bastards.

I hate the Kansas City Hardcore scene

I kind of agree. There was a point a couple years ago where I saw a ton of Lawrence/KC hardcore bands and I thought most of them really sucked and the fans were all assholes who would rather pick fights than have a good time. I actually avoided a few shows just because I didn't want to deal with them.

But then there are a few really awesome bands, like No Master and Canyons and HCL

Yep, definitely didn't see that one anywhere.

It made me miss Peroni Nastro Azzurro.

Venues that open an hour or more before any band is due on stage.

By "your", do you mean North America in general?

If so, you haven't had a Sam Adams Boston Lager. And if you have, your taste buds are suffering from erectile dysfunction.

That would be just about every semi-known venue in this country.

Doors at 7, show at 8, etc.

The Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire actually always opens at 6 and the show starts at 8.

Here it varies depending on how many bands are playing.

Indeed I do. Been to four cities so far and the story has been similar in each.

Some places had Samuel Adams, but since England is packed with Samuel Adams pubs, which only serve their stuff, I wasn't it much of a hurry to get any as we have it here. When in Rome, and all that.

For some reason most of the posts I've seen on facebook in the past 24 hours have made me lose copious amounts of brain cells.
