Wasted Years was too slow the other night in Raleigh but the tempo was up some in Nashville.

Rob's performance on the last Epitaph tour was outstanding. He was hitting screams that he couldn't have done for like an entire decade prior, not to mention the shows were 2 hours and 20 minutes long- I'm pretty sure Maiden has never done a set that long with Bruce. He also ditched the teleprompter almost entirely and was moving around much more than in recent tours. He's still no Bruce when it comes to both stage presence and vocal performance, but he sounded damn good for a 60-something guy onstage for 2 and a half hours every night.

I'm not surprised that this is what happens on the message board where "Iron Maiden is the standard for which all metal shows are compared to", but still disappointed.

I hate it when people compare Priest to Maiden in terms of live shows because there's almost a 5-6 year difference between them. Of course Rob, Glenn and Ian are gonna be sluggish in comparison, they're all in their 60s!

Priest has been sluggish for 5-10 years, and Maiden will not be in 5 years.

Wrong.

Priest's farewell show in 2011 was awesome and actually sounded good compared to Maiden's muddy as fuck mix last year. The only thing I give Bruce over Rob is amount of energy & presence. Listen to "The Mower" from Rob's last solo album. He was 59 when he recorded that. Bruce is 54 right now. Age catches up with everyone. If Maiden wants to squeeze out another 5 solid years, they should start tuning down half a step so Bruce won't have to continuously strain himself.

I saw Priest in 08 or 09, and they were not even close to the same level as Maiden live. That's all I am saying.

Good point about the sound mix. I forgot to mention that, seen Maiden 3 times with fucked up mix, Priest never had those problems. And Rob in his prime was better than Bruce in his. It's my opinion, I know most people won't like it but I don't give a shit.
I love both bands, just trying to be honest. Not biased towards either. Most of the time it comes down to opinions anyways.

Not sure how you can say they were sluggish for like 5 to 10 years, you saw them once.
