Carnival Of Madness -- Clarkston, MI -- August 27th, 2013

I went to this show straight from work, so I missed We As Human. Oh well, maybe next time.

In This Moment was next. I've been a big fan of theirs since the 1st time I saw em live at Ozzfest 2007. I've seen em about 10x now. However, the 2 times I've seen them in support of their latest album BLOOD have been disappointing. It's almost like their music has become an afterthought, and it's more about the choreography and Maria's costume changes.

In This Moment setlist
Adrenalize
Blazin'
Whore
Burn
Blood

Skillet was absolutely incredible! I'd never seen them before, and they absolutely blew me away. The owned the night! Next time they come through town I will run, not walk, to see them.

Skillet setlist
Whispers In The Dark
Hero
Sick of It
Comatose
Rise
Awake & Alive
The Last Night
Not Gonna Die
Circus For a Psycho
Monster
Rebirthing

Papa Roach played next. I hadn't seen them in almost a decade. They're always a high energy live band. I would've liked to have heard "Dead Cell," "Infest," or "Broken Home," but those are some OLD songs. No complainys They were solid.

Papa Roach setlist
Still Swingin'
Blood Brothers
Give Me Back My Life
Between Angels & Insects
Where Did The Angels Go
Burn
Forever
Leader of the Broken Hearts
Scars
... To Be Loved
Getting Away With Murder
Last Resort

Shinedown headlined. I had not seen them since the Carnival of Madness tour 2010 w/ Chevelle, Sevendust & 10 Years. I've seen the 5x now, and they're just a solid band... great songs, cool stage show, excellent stage presence. I think they have the total package. I left a bit early because I had to go to work in the morning, but here are the songs I caught:

I'm Not Alright
Enemies
Devour
Unity
The Crow & The Butterfly
Adrenaline
I'll Follow You
Diamond Eyes
if You Only Knew
Amarylis
--encore--
Sound of Madness

Nice review! Thanks for posting.

I just want to say, Papa Roach would play Dead Cell if they had more time to play and if they were headlining or co-headlining. Both times I've seen them live (in the summer of 2010 and in January with Stone Sour) they have played it.

According to someone who attended the Clarkston show on setlist.fm, the songs you missed after you left were Second Chance. Simple Man, and Bully. It's a shame they dropped 45 at your show and for the night after. Hope they put it back in the set, so there is at least one old-school Shinedown song in their set.

My god, they have now dropped 45? Shinedown needs to go away. Papa Roach and Skillet are the best bands on this tour.

No shit. they need to play at least one other old school song per show. the tour rolls my way this coming wednesday in memphis, at least maiden/megadeth is the next night in nashville (although megadeth setlists have been pretty stale as of late).
