Wow...this was shit for me in 2000; I consider it one of the best debut albums for a metal band. It was dark, creepy and was spun in my CD player non-stop for almost a year. I still hold it in high regard today; highlights for me were The Game, Fear, and of course GET DOWN WIT THE SICKNESS WHAHWHAHAHH

The downfall of this being a good album is that my expectations were unfairly high for their future work and as far I am concerned they have not been album to match what they did in 2000, save for a few songs here and there.

Today's score 8/10

Great thread idea, I am now tempted to write something like this for my own timeframe of when I first started listening to metal and what the most influential albums for me were. Since I am hideously old, I would set the Wayback machine to 1983.

On my last post I said that I thought Disturbed's Sickness was one of the best debt albums; this is another one

I had a bad taste for the metal/rap mix up from listening to Limp Bizkit and when I heard LP would be doing the same thing I vowed not to get near it; well I did and I loved it

What I like about LP is the two vocalist system with Mike rapping and Cheater belting out the screams and singing. The music was hard and heavy and a whole lot of fun. Almost every song has its own feel and taste and made me a huge LP fan for about 4 years; I'll get to Meteora here down the road but those two album hold a place in my top 50 of all time

It is a shame, like a lot of posters here I felt like everything went down hill after Meteora and I don't even know who the hell this people are calling themselves LP today. But at least they gave us one hell of a starter album

Today's score 9/10

Something a little different for you

So someone a little older than more who rode the bus let me borrow this, and for someone trying to get into metal but not sure which bands to look into, this was a Godsend

Basically this introduced me to band that I would dig back in 2000, and bands that I would swing back to today; So I got my interest peaked on Slipknot, Sevendust, Dope, Powerman 5000, Staind, Kitte and System of a Down just from this album. And I liked Machine Head's spot on here but I lost track of them until recently when I really got into them and part of that was remembering liking From This Day from here.

Anyone here know this album or any other compilations that helped on your path to your favorite music?

Today's score 9/10 (for helping direct me)

that part of the song was the closest thing to really dark and out on the edge for me that time, another reason I loved the album

Now that part seems like 100 year old dog shit compared to some of the music now
