Havok -- West Springfield, VA -- August 5th, 2013

Full Review

Went to see Havok for cheap

Animas is heavily influenced by Death- they were KILLER. I totally recommend checking them out on bandcamp if you like Death.

Decent crowd, especially for a monday night. Havok woke the crowd up and a pit was pretty constant. Havok sounded fine, but their energy really combined with the crowd for a synergy that I found it impossible not to have a good time.

Setlist.fm has slightly different sets for other dates, but I swore I heard Time Is Up before the encore. I am not sure if any other Havok fans were there can confirm or deny. It seems odd for them to deviate this night and not just keep the same setlist.

Animas (9:09- 9:45)
  • ?
  • ?
  • Requiem for a Discretion
  • ?
  • ? (?Revenge?)
  • Tornado of Souls (Megadeth cover)

Havok (9:52- 10:53)
  • (Unknown)
  • (Unknown)
  • Scumbag in Disguise
  • (Unknown)
  • I Am the State
  • (Unknown)
  • D.O.A.
  • Unnatural Selection
  • (Unknown)
  • Time Is Up
  • (Unknown)

Can't wait to see them in a week & a half.

Do they have a tour shirt this time around, or is it just the usual album art/No Karate etc?

At the Denver show I got a shirt with the Unnatural Section album art on the front and tour dates on the back; they might have had another tour date shirt with the Burn album cover but I'm not 100% sure

How did I miss Under the Gun in the set?

Just needs Chasing the Edge, and we're golden.

I am going to see them tonight in Boston with Lich King. Gonna be sick. The only thing is that they aren't playing "No Amnesty". I love that song.

Seeing them at the end of the month. Never was a fan of theirs, but I checked out their older material and picked up their latest album and I feel this will be a sick show. Love seeing all the great reviews... can't wait!
