I think I like Fake History as a album more but The Blackest Beautiful is so raw with emotion.

I just listened to The Blackest Beautiful as well... holy schinkes it was SICK. Feels way more immense and intense than Fake History. Funnily enough I wasn't expecting it to be good because of the new song, but I was definitely proven wrong.

Blackest Beautiful is a good record, but I thought Fake History was more intense and layered. Blackest Beautiful is way slower and poppier on the whole than Fake History with the only songs even coming close being "Banshee" and "27 Club". Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy both records just my on the matter.

Oh yeah, it's definitely poppier, but at the same time I still feel like it still contains the same intensity from Fake History (Banshee, Empty Elvis, 27 Club). It just feels like there's a lot more variety and creativity (That Fear Fever, Virgin Dirt, The Priest and Used Cars) which I like. It just felt more memorable.

Both albums are awesome but Fake History does have a bigger punch. Jason is amazing lyricist and his live performance is godly.

Lovers of funeral death doom the Ephemeros debut "All Hail Corrosion" is godly. They take a nihilistic melodic sludge bent on the genre to add their own flavor but it works. I'd say already a top ten for me.

It's streaming on bandcamp
