Because they're impractical, ripping the consumer off and makes it much easier for bigger developers to charge the same price across the board for DLC on multiple platforms.

Ripping the consumer off? Haha, wait until you see everything get labelled with a higher $/ price than the original points value would have cost to buy.

Even though PS Store was often a little bit cheaper money vs. points, I'll accept the point. I was referencing the fact that by using points, you were often forced to buy points in bigger amounts than what you needed them for. I know very few gamers who did not have a surplus of xbox live points. Even though the prices MAY go up, at the very least with a credit card you can still buy what you want and not be forced to get anything extra.

True, although up until now they didn't expire, so they could just sit there until you did need them. I've got exactly 800 left, so spent them on something costing 800.
