Quite possibly one of the most atmospheric, yet still beautiful and energetic albums to ever be released, in my opinion. This whole album is filled with golden song after golden song, and features the track that I honestly feel may be the best song ever recorded, "Svartesmeden Og Lundamyrstrollet". It was Windir's second full length album, and despite the still somewhat raw and ambient production (ambient as in lots of background noise) it is an amazing album. For those of you that have not listened to this album, or even Windir at all, please do your ears a favor and do it . It is too bad that Valfar passed away, because after listening to their 4 main releases it only leaves you wanting more and more of his amazing music.

No, I liked it. My 1990's street-lingo isn't what it used to be. I thought the song was pretty hype. Do the kids still say that?

I really need to listen to more Windir. I've listened to songs here and there, but never actually sat down and listened to a whole album.

Sworn
Bastards & Conquerors (2009)

Melodic Black Metal

Sworn may be one of the most underrated bands out there today. Formed in 2005 in Bergen, Norway they have released 2 full lengths and a demo. They definitely have that Melodic Norwegian Black Metal sound (along the lines of Windir at times) but there is also some Swedish influence, ala-Dissection. Their second album, Bastards & Conquerors is a melodic masterpiece, to me at least. A friend of mine randomly stumbled upon them many years ago, and I was hooked ever since. It was hard to decide between this album and their first album, "The Alleviation" (which featured the vocals of Lars Jensen of Myrkgrav), but I feel that this one has more of a wide appeal than the first one. Check them out if you like Melodic BM.

Never heard of these guys, but I will check them out after your description.

Between Two Worlds is such a great album. "Warriors" is probably the most badass song ever.

Trench Hell
Southern Cross Ripper (EP) (2008)

Speed Metal

Possibly one of the most badass releases that Hell's Headbangers has put out, "Southern Cross Ripper" by Aussie Speed Metal titans, TRENCH HELL. Trench Hell is one of those bands that is SOOO BAD ASS, yet only have a demo, an EP, and a split... WTF!? Even worse, Metal-Archives lists them as being "On Hold" at the moment. I randomly got this album with an order I made with HHR, I forgot what bundle it came with, but I had no idea what it was going to sound like, and boy oh boy was I floored. It is for fans of early Kreator, Venom, and Celtic Frost. It is raw, but still rocking and fun to listen to! It clocks in at just 22 minutes long... which is faaaaaaar too short for how fun this album is.

Last week was absolutely nuts at work so I didn't have any time to add onto this, but this week I will try to put up a few more once I get some time.
