I could get people digging Hellyeah if they'd carried on in the vein of their first album. I liked that album a lot. But second one onwards have just been turds. Generic, common or garden, turds.

Generic, kinda like Newsted's solo work.

The Gods try their hardest to stop Gignatour, cancel two bands:

Quote:
MEGADETH, DEVICE FORCED TO CANCEL PERFORMANCES IN OKLAHOMA

Oklahoma City was plagued with bad luck last night (July 16) as Megadeth‘s Gigantour 2013 was severely affected by extreme weather issues. Intense rain and lightning forced Device to skip their set, but that wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg. Shortly before Megadeth were set to take the stage, a bolt of lightning struck an Oklahoma City transformer, cutting power to the Zoo Amphitheatre entirely.

According to Antiquiet.com, fans who attended the outdoor Gigantour date were treated to sets from Death Division, Newsted and HELLYEAH, but before Device went on, a massive amount of rain soaked both the fans and the equipment onstage. Due to the rainfall, the crew removed Device’s equipment from the stage while waiting for the storm to settle down.

Despite the cancellation of Device’s set, Black Label Society were able to perform their full show. While Black Label Society’s gear was being cleared from the Gigantour stage, a freak lightning strike blew up a city transformer. After a 45-minute wait for the power to come back on, venue security broke the bad news that Megadeth would not be performing.

Proceeds from tickets sold for the Oklahoma City Gigantour will be given to the Oklahoma Food Bank in order to help tornado victims.

I like how there is no offer of refunds, (granted the money is going to a good cause) or god forbid rescheduling Device and Megadeth

Man, the fact that BLS still played just makes Device and Megadave look worse.

No it doesn't. The story says that lightning caused a power outage before Megadeth's set. Not a lot you can do as a band if you have no power and can't play.

They could reschedule or give the option of a refund. That, at least in my book, does make them look bad. My issue is mostly with Device here, but I guess the storm could've settled after they removed their gear.

I guess they figured they would look good by giving money from the tickets to the tornado victims. With the endless amount of touring Megadeth does, i'm not sure how possible or how far down the road the show would be if they rescheduled it.

The Gods try their hardest to stop Gignatour part II: Not feeling so good Mr. Jason Newstead

Quote:
Hey friends...I'd been feeling a bit under the weather while performing the most recent Gigantour shows so I went to the Dr. on my day off today & I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia!!! So under doctor's orders, I'm taking a week to rebuild...my apologies to our Canadian brothers & sisters in regions where we will not be appearing this week. I'm gonna work on keeping me alive so together we can keep the metal alive!!!! Cheers to all!! Jason
