This is more or less the way to go. Criterion DVDs don't really lose value (some even gain it) but for your standard commercially released stuff, no harm in waiting.

Although it varies from movie to movie. You can get The Incredibles, any Toy Story, Ratatouille, Bugs Life, and one or two others here dirt cheap. But Monsters Inc. or Up? Nope!
