The Amazing Race

There really aren't any TV shows these days that I make an effort to watch every week. NFL football, Game of Thrones, and the Amazing Race are pretty much it.

Every year/season my wife an I play a game of trying to pick the winners during the first episode. If that team ends up winning we get absolutely nothing. This season I've picked Idries & Jamil (the twin doctors) while she picked Mona & Beth (the roller derby moms). But I'm rooting against Joey & Meghan. When your job/handle is "YouTube Hosts/Sensations", yeah get lost.

Any other fans here?

I saw contestants from the Amazing Race Norway doing their thing in Agra when I was in India last year.

My mom and I are big fans of that show. I instantly wanted the YouTube hosts to be eliminated, haha. Them and the newly married couple (they seem like real assholes) I don't like. My favorites are the Alabama couple and the roller-derby moms.

Alabama was my second choice for winners but I went with the twins. And that newly married couple do seem like great people

Wow, did I ever pick a couple of losers. I've only had one team win in the end, but I can't remember a team I picked going out in the second episode.

Whenever our teams go out my wife and I get to pick a backup team, just with no shot at the prize now. So I'll go with my original guy instinct and pick the Alabama team.

Even if you're a fan or not, this video is classic. Let me set it up; it was early in the race, the challenge was to launch watermelons at this statue and knock it over. The team was these two really annoying ladies who were hosts on the Home Shopping Network. The blonde one was actually the more annoying of the two but it didn't matter. I'd say the video is beyond 'Wipeout' quality, it's more Most Extreme Elimination Challenge.

We'll call the video "Melons".

Jesus, I would think that would cause serious injury, I guess not.

It was three or four seasons ago. She was fine, that team ended up coming in second place.
