Show was fantastic, all-in-all one of the best Metallica shows I've been to. They were about 30-35 minutes late, which I thought was a bit unusual, but the weather's been pretty terrible down here so it might've been cause for the delay.
Also the 10th anniversary of Trujillo being in Metallica too (so Hetfield pointed out)! Other setlists from the day: Anthrax: Caught in a Mosh Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't Antisocial Indians In the End T.N.T. (AC/DC Cover) I Am the Law Madhouse Slayer: Jon Dette filled in on this show too, Anthrax were on at 12.30 and Slayer on at 4.30, towards the end of the set he was getting up after every song and walking around a bit. He's doing the Slayer / Anthrax / Kingdom Of Sorrow sideshow tomorrow, so he'll be doing two sets back to back!! Tom also cracked the line: "Who here's seen Up In Smoke?" Wait for crowd reaction... "Dave's not here man" When the set finished they pretty much said, "Oh, thanks to Jon Dette too" and walked off. Disciple Die by the Sword War Ensemble Chemical Warfare Altar of Sacrifice Jesus Saves Mandatory Suicide Seasons in the Abyss Dead Skin Mask Angel of Death South of Heaven Raining Blood A Perfect Circle: Maynard funnily ended the show about 5 minutes early, and ended the show with "See you fuckers in May" (referring to the Tool tour). A lot of people were being dicks during their set and also during Puscifer's surprise set by screaming Tool songs, etc. so I assume he was having a jibe at them for that. Annihilation Imagine Weak and Powerless The Hollow Passive The Rose Counting Bodies Like Sheep By and Down The Package The Noose When The Levee Breaks The Outsider Stone Sour: Gone Sovereign Absolute Zero Mission Statement A Rumor of Skin RU486 Through Glass Reborn Say You'll Haunt Me 30/30-150 Tomahawk: God Hates a Coward Flashback Oddfellows 101 North Stone Letter Birdsong Rape This Day Baby Lets Play _ Capt. Midnight Mayday Point and Click Pay To Cum Also watched but didn't grab sets: Red Fang DragonForce Puscifer Kyuss Lives! Linkin Park

Any set including that many songs from the first five albums + a DM song or two is just going to be amazing. I need to see this band!

Anthrax need to give Antisocial a fucking rest already, and Got The Time > TNT.

Better idea: they should stop playing covers all together.

Yes!!! Couldn't agree more. Maybe that's part of the reason Rob left...having to play Antisocial and Got the Time at EVERY show.

Problem is, Anthrax doesn't have that much good original material to pull from. They've always been completely undeserving of their spot in the "Big Four". Bands like Overkill, Exodus, Testament have far superior catalogs. Fuck, I'll take Nuclear Assault, Dark Angel, Death Angel and Heathen over Anthrax.
BTW, nice Metallica set but IMO Metallica haven't truly been able to bring it live since the mid-90's.
