Two cities they hit twice. Therefore it's safe to say most of the audience hasn't seen any Dark Roots material live. Just weird to scrap that to "save" his voice but still do Formation, which is nearly all screaming.


It's weird to tour in support of an album and only play one song off it. Especially when they have a giant ass banner with the album art on it, and all the merch from it. With that said, more people will know Disciples than Native Blood, so......

Chuck can basically get away with talking the old songs, the new stuff definitely requires a lot more from him in terms of actual singing. Death growls actually aren't strenuous on your throat at all if you do it right, and Chuck's growl is really more of a raspy extension of his lower register than straight cookie monstering. I think that's a big reason why his lyrics are so discernible even when growled (same with Johan Hegg from Amon Amarth).

Overkill has awesome live sound, at their show in Portland in 2010, I didn't even need earplugs, it was absolutely perfect. Hope Blitz gets better, Overkill needs to live forever!
