Yeah, Wino is a cool guy. First time I saw them was an off-date of the first Metal Alliance tour and Wino STAGE DOVE off the fucking stage into the crowd and afterwards hung out with everyone and signed a bunch of stuff and took a bunch of pictures. Dave did too. They are totally awesome guys.

TOP 5 EP'S OF 2012
5. Arsis - Lepers Caress ![]() To me, Arsis has pretty much been in a backslide even so far back as 2006's "United In Regret," although each album has had varying degrees of success. 2010's "Starve For The Devil" might be my least favorite Arsis album, but with the "Lepers Caress" EP, it looks like the band is at least attempting to get back on track. "Veil Of Mourning Black" sounds like something that was left off their first album - tons of riffs, blastbeats and speed - but the songwriting is just hearkening back to when Arsis' songwriting was amazing. The day James Malone leaves Arsis is the day I stop listening to Arsis. Solid output, now let's see if they can transfer this music over to a full-length album! Standout Tracks: Veil Of Mourning Black, Denied

Revocation - Teratogenesis ![]() Unlike Arsis, Revocation might be hitting a huge stride in the quality of their releases. Their last album is magnificent, although it took me a few listens to feel that way. This EP is almost solid all the way through. "The Grip Tightens" might be one of my favorite songs of the year (and undoubtedly the best video of the year) and "Maniacally Unleashed" sounds like it could be off of their album "Existence Is Futile." There's no compromise for speed or technical ability here - Revocation put everything they had into this EP. Standout Tracks: The Grip Tightens, Maniacally Unleashed

3.
TaeTiSeo - Twinkle ![]() Girls Generation's first sub-outfit, TaeTiSeo (Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun) focuses much more on the vocal abilities of arguably SNSD's three best vocalists and less on the music, which makes for a very pleasant listen. There's catchy dance tracks like "Twinkle" and "OMG (Oh My God)" and slower ballad's the really showcase the strengths of each vocalist, such as "Baby Steps" and "Library." A little something here and there for fans of any kind. inb4butthurtmetalfagsStandout tracks: Twinkle, Checkmate

2.
Burial - Kindred ![]() The chillaxest of chillax, without being "bro" if you know what I mean. The best dubstep artist on the planet releases yet another masterpiece in the form of three long, dark, droning yet stuttering and groove-laden electronic songs. Only after repeated listens did I find little subtle nuances that really aren't made aware on a virgin runthrough. Best listened to with headphones and away from other sources of noise. Destroys every other "dubstep" "artist" in the world. Standout tracks: Kindred, Ashtray Wasp

1.
Deathspell Omega - Drought ![]() There is progressing as a band, there is playing a completely different style of music, and then there's this. "Drought" is unlike anything Deathspell Omega has done before, yet it fits exactly with the style of the band. "Fiery Serpents" kinda starts out a bit punkish but ends up incorporating the craziness that DsO is known for, but "Scorpions & Drought" is pretty much what a black metal Dillinger Escape Plan might sound like. This entire EP is mindblowing, especially if you're aware of Deathspell Omega history. They took a huge risk with this EP, but it's paying off more than anyone could've expected. Standout tracks: The Whole Thing
