Favorite album you heard in 2012 that wasn't released in 2012

Looking at the music I've bought this year, there are two serious contenders:

Gamma Ray - Somewhere Out In Space (this album totally surprised me. I never thought they'd come close to the brillance of Land of the Free again, but this is just as good, and maybe better)
Lost Horizon - Awakening The World (I didn't think this would be so different from the other album, but it is another unique record. I'd probably say this is better than Somewhere Out In Space, but it's a tough call)

J Mascis - Several Shades of Why threw me for a ringer this year. Awesome, awesome record.

Joke plays an uncommonly effective hybrid of genres: punk/ska/hip-hop/metal/folk. I couldn't stop listening to it for several months this year, and still break it out regularly.
