Jason Keyser is a godlike vocalist to be sure, but he actually didn't sing on Entity. I think he couldn't make the studio dates in time or something. He is an outstanding frontman though, his performance last year at the free Scion show at the Roxy was utterly ridiculous. I have never seen a death metal singer command a crowd so easily.

^Actually, I had forgotten all about that - you're absolutely right. Paul and Mike did the vocals on the album, and Jason joined the band when they started touring for the album. Thanks for the clarification.
You're right about Jason on stage though. He commands the crowd better than almost anyone I've ever seen.

That's a hell of a way to finish your list! Cormorant, Origin, Subrosa. I liked the new Russian Circles, but thought their last one was better. I still need to check out Red Fang, Indian, Bloodiest, *shels and Long Distance Calling.
They're all really high on my list of bands to check out.

Thanks guys for the comments. The fact that the last few albums I hadn't gotten around to posting about were so awesome is the exact reason I decided to finish this list. It's embarrassing as all fuck to me to be finishing this up a few weeks before the end of 2012 (but also a little funny, I guess
), but I can deal with the fact of how silly it may seem if it means mentioning these great albums once more on the interwebs. I still listen to several of these albums to this day - especially SubRosa and Bloodiest (you need to get on that shit, kalf - f'sho!). I also still spin the Origin and Red Fang discs from time to time as well. Also, I agree that the previous RC album was better than Empros, but like I said, they have never made a bad record in my opinion. If you liked Geneva, you should check out their first two (if you haven't done so already) - they're even better yet.

Here is one of many reasons this damn thing took so long:
![]() Enjoy the holidays. My "Best of 2012" list will be posted by next December or so. Probably.

But yeah, work has already begun for this year's list. With the streamlined format I hope to use, hopefully it'll get done more expeditiously.
