VHOL is gonna be interesting. Apparently John Cobbett had the record tracked to death, over 100 instrument tracks for one album- four instruments and vocals. The music's supposed to be pretty fast and there are a lot of different vocal styles. Dunno if this means that Mike did a lot of different vocal styles or if John and Sigrid contributed vocals as well. The music itself is supposed to be great though, the main worry is whether the album was mixed well or not considering how much stuff was laid to tape. John Cobbett's a perfectionist though, so hopefully that won't be a problem!

For 2013, I'm psyched for new Black Sabbath, Queensryche, Slayer (w/ Gary Holt I hope), Exodus, VHOL obviously, a new Hatchet album, the debut Hell Fire record, Saxon, Clutch, Helloween, Onslaught, Death Angel, and a possible Hammers of Misfortune record.

New Black Sabbath, Intronaut, King Diamon, Light Bearer, Grayceon, VHOL, Earl Sweatshirt, and mostly like Death Grips make 2013 look awesome already. There are tons of others that'll release great material too.

There are probably going to be a lot of great albums, but I'm only focused with things on release dates so far. At this point I'm most excited for the new Helloween and Holy Grail records. Helloween is coming off of their best record since Keepers Pt. II and Holy Grail is just a killer band that I hope can be consistent with their new album.

Agreed on Helloween, 7 Sinners was phenomenal. I dunno if I'd place it higher than Time of the Oath, but it's certainly more consistent. If they can keep the momentum going then Helloween are gonna enter an amazing late period rennaissance. As for Holy Grail, I feel like their live energy hasn't been captured in the studio well yet, and I've got a gut feeling that Ride the Void won't remedy that situation. I truly hope that my gut is wrong though!

Apparently, Deeds of Flesh, Defeated Sanity and Rotting Christ have new albums coming out. Fuck yeah! Can't wait for a new Rotten Sound EP too.
