Divinorum - Black/Death Metal from Seattle

I can finally debut my side project! We formed around January of 2011, just as a jam band between me and my good friend Matt Fields (Vocals/Guitar) since his main band had just split up. After a few months of jamming we decided we would take our band seriously, thus, Divinorum was formed!

We started recording our EP in January of this year, finishing the drum tracks in just a few hours. However, we had become cursed, the guitar tracks that were ALMOST completed about a month ago were deleted from the hard drive, so we had to restart that process over. After one night, we got our shortest and most aggressive song recorded, HUNGER!

Hunger will be on our upcoming EP Cursed, set to debut sometime this Summer via one of our friends labels. Along with 3 other originals and a cover of Candlemass' classic, "Bewitched".

I hope you guys enjoy it! It is only a rough mix, but feel it has a great sound still. It is far different from our other tracks, because what we aim for is a more atmospheric blackened death sound, but, ENJOY!

All of the drums, guitars, and vocals are complete! Some how our bassist lost his bass........ ..........so hopefully he can get a replacement and finish this recording!

Welp things have been a bit crazy with us, but here are some quick updates...

- Playing the annual "Hail Santa" fest in Seattle, WA.
- Our bassist moved to LA, so in the mean time we are just Inquisitioning it.
- Still waiting to get our tape "Cursed" released and our more recent recording may be released before it
- Working on a cover of Watain's "Satan's Hunger" for Hail Santa, renaming it "Santa's Hunger"

I heard a rumor that Erik Danielsson of Watain is dating a chick from Seattle and is in town this week. Tonight Divinorum is playing a show tonight and doing a "Satan's Hunger" cover. It'd be so rad if he showed up and did vocals for us

Anyway... news!
Our last bassist is now touring with a band who will remain nameless, so we have been trying to get a new one for all upcoming shows and recordings. The other day we jammed with a bassist (also named John ), and things are looking good. He has a very Cronos bass tone, and a very aggressive and raw style.

He will be (most likely) making his live debut with us at our next show, which is a House Show on March 8th. I am not a fan of house shows, but it should be fun... I hope.

Might be re-recording our "debut EP" since we have no clue what ended up happening to our original recording.

Updated our shows that we have coming up. We will be opening for Master next week, and then opening for Sorcery in April.
