Actually cheaper than I expected. Most shows here, non standup comedians, are well over 100 bucks.

I'm hoping a 2nd Boston show gets added for Jan. 21st. The Orpheum holds only 2,700 people and Soundgarden put over 13,000 asses in the seats of the Comcast center this past summer.

Soundgarden sold out a arena last time they were here and now they are playing a MUCH smaller venue.

There is also more dates on this tour and it's actually a full tour. They could either play to arenas that would be half full due to so many dates across the country. Or play to sold out smaller theater venues and make more profit.

Makes sense to me.

typical big market, small venue, album cycle kick off. entire tour will "sell out" immediately, disappoint a ton of fans, and drive demand for a summer tour thatll probably get announced right after this one finishes.

It's strange, yet kind of cool they're doing smaller venues. But I guess doing two dates in some cities makes up for not pllaying the big places. I've been to the sound acedemy in Toronto a few times, it's a GA venue that fits somewhere in the 3,000-4,000 range. It would be interesting to see them play a place like that given how well known they are.

Too bad the new album is just so-so.
