People here said the year they had that short Ozzfest(2010), more people were at those than at the Mayhem's at the same venue.
That Ozzfest also had Crue on it though he can sell amphitheaters out

Fact is you need multiple names to fill places, this years Uproar did well because it had Godsmack/Shinedown/Staind to move tickets. Its just a fact these tours are gonna have repeats unless other bands start selling more tickets on their own.

I know a while back there was speculation about Avenged Sevenfold being on main stage - it seemed to make a lot of sense as they are quite popular and not a repeat (two guest dates don't count). Did someone confirm they aren't being considered any more or did they announce Euro dates or something?

To the best of my knowledge they're still in the running. Makes sense to me.

The only talks of headliners I have heard is that Deftones were offered a spot on Mayhem Fest and that Roadrunner Records were trying to get Zombie on a high profile tour like Mayhem/Uproar to promote his new album. Its very possible that 2 other bands will headline. I think A7X, Korn, 5FDP, Alice In Chains were likely in the running too. It shouldn't be long until there is info leaked about who the headliners are.

It should be noted that Kevin Lyman said the dates/cities will be revealed in early December which sounds like there won't be a presale this year. That makes me think that they don't want presale buyers bitching after the line up is announced which means there are probably a bunch of repeat bands this year.

Heard a rumor today that A7X could be headlining the side stage (like Anthrax this year).

...I'm calling BS, but it's still a rumor.

It's bullshit. As cool as that would be to see that (even though I'm the only one here that would like that) A7X is big enough to headline the fest so them on side stage wouldn't happen.

Heard some more Mayhem Fest 2013 rumors. I'm not sure how legit this is but thought I would pass it along. I am hearing that Nuclear Blast Records will be hosting the small stage (like Sumerian did in 2012) and that Exodus, Fleshgod Apocalypse & Sylosis will be three of the bands to play that stage. This is not confirmed but a rumor.
