Dethklok -- Silver Spring, MD -- November 2nd, 2012
Chris's thread here has a ton of sweet merch and other pics.
Setlist will be the same as in that post. Mainly this is for a review full review We got there right at like 6:29 and a minute later we hear BDM rumble on. No line to get in at that point, but I swear I saw people lined up at around 4:30 when we rolled into Silver Spring. I've seen BDM a few times before, and this really was no different (which is good and bad). Energetic madman metal, but nothing I hadn't heard them play (well maybe not the last song). They sounded good, no complaints there. Frontman took off his shirt, unfortunately. There was a bit of room on the floor at this time and I perhaps shoulda gotten a little closer. Machine Head was on next (I Think they are better than All That Remains), and I had not seen them before. It was a slower pace of more straight ahead, a bit more controlled metal. They used the background screens a bit better than BDM, but nothing really special yet. They dedicated Aesthetics of Hate to That chap from Suicide Silence that had recently died. There was a Dimebag graphic that came out at the end of that song, so I guess that is who they would have dedicated it to instead. Nice and heavy, solid, but I was a little underwhelmed from other reports of their live shows being "excellent." There was a guy with a skeletor costume and I got a picture with that maniac. All that Remains was on next, to a now rather packed house. Some metalcore to change the mood again! I like them, and have seen them before, but I thought their setlist kind of could have been better. It was a combination of the new songs (didn't know), a ton of war footage (kind of at odds with the emo lyrics and metalcore sound, IMO) on the screen, and maybe the alcohol, but I think they were better the other times I've seen them. The crowd was very loud, tho. Finally, Dethklok ( I'd never seen before) came on to thunderous applause. They sounded exactly like the show/albums. It was odd, because for the most part Brandon Small (guitarist/vocalist/creator/etc.) and co. were in darkness and the focus would be on the screen behind them, which made excellent usage of the cartoons. If you like the show, you'll love the live show, simply put. At like the last song (Crush the Industry, oddly), enough lights came on so you could see Brandon, Gene Hoglan, and co. That was pretty cool. It was def a very good if not great show. A nice mix of different styles. It was over before 11 which was good and bad. Anyways, I had a great time. setlists Black Dahlia Murder (6:30 - 7) A Shrine to Madness Moonlight Equilibrium On Stirring Seas of Salted Blood What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse Malenchantments of the Necrosphere I Will Return Machine Head (7:23- 8:05) This Is the End Imperium Aesthetics of Hate Locust Halo All That Remains (8:30 -9:10) This Calling Dead Wrong Six Aggressive Opposition Hold On Down Through The Ages Stand Up Become The Catalyst Some Of The People, All Of The Time Two Weeks Dethklok (9:42 -10:48) Deththeme I Ejaculate Fire Hatredcopter (Animation) Dethsupport Murmaider (Facebones animation) Andromeda Awaken Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle (Dr Rockso animation) Ghostqueen (Bathroom Break animation) The Gears The Galaxy Thunderhorse (Encore animation) Go Into the Water (rant from Brandon) Crush the Industry |

If Trevor from BDM didn't take his shirt off it would be a bad show.
Also looking at your pics from the show for one of the ATR pics the are using the logo from the new album over the cover of Trivium's In Waves. Odd.

Is that the full Machine Head set? That seems short as hell, even if half of those songs are 5-7 minutes.

I don't think its possible for TBDM to play a full set with Trevor keeping his shirt on. Just part of the awesomeness.
I agree that the Machine Head set seems too short, I am not sure if they are rotating spots with ATR so maybe some nights they get to add another 2 songs or so.

Man that is bullshit they didn't play Davidian or Old
![]() . As of now All That Remains can fuck off and suck a big horse cock, they don't deserve to play over Machine Head at all![]() ![]()

It's true. He has to have his shirt off.
That'd be like seeing Trapped Under Ice or Harms Way and their lead singer leaving their shirt on.
